From the website for Habitat for Humanity Tanzania:

Habitat for Humanity Tanzania (HFHT) traces its beginnings to the first homeowner in Kasulu, Kigoma region in 1986. From its humble beginnings, HFHT has grown into an 18-affiliate program and is still growing as we process applications for affiliation and partnership from throughout the country. HFHT’s National Office is located in sunny Dar es Salaam, and its affiliates cover the Dar es Salaam, Dodoma, Southern Highlands (Ruvuma, Iringa, Morogoro), Shinyanga, Tanga, Mwanza, Kigoma, Tabora and Zanzibar regions. HFHT has built over 2000 houses since 1986, and its current five-year vision is to build 1,000 more (from July 2004 to June 2009).
